Roundtable on women’s diplomacy in Morocco

Rabat, November 2025

The Moroccan Chapter of the International Network of Liberal Women, in partnership with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, organized a roundtable discussion on women’s diplomacy and advocacy in Morocco on November 30, 2025.

This event aims to strengthen the role of women in national and international diplomacy to promote an inclusive and equitable vision of political and social issues.

The active participation of women in parliamentary, partisan, and civic diplomacy is a crucial lever for strengthening Morocco’s diplomacy, defending its interests, and advancing social causes and women’s rights.

Organizing this roundtable provides a valuable opportunity to enrich the national debate on women’s representation in diplomacy and human rights advocacy. By fostering the exchange of experiences, best practices, and perspectives, this event aims to raise awareness among political, civic, and social actors about the importance of increasing women’s effective participation in these key sectors.

The Main Objectives were:

• To raise awareness of the specific challenges faced by women in the diplomatic field.
• To highlight the strategic role of women in parliamentary, partisan, and citizen diplomacy.
• To foster dialogue and networking among stakeholders involved in these fields.
• To identify opportunities and challenges for strengthening women’s participation in the diplomatic and political spheres.
• To strengthen local and national diplomacy.

To enrich the discussion, we invited some distinguished speakers to share their experience and talk about the main challenges they have to face in their work:

Ms. Naima Korchi, diplomat and President of Africa women’s Forum
Ms. Zainaba Benhammou, politician and President of the North South think tank
and Ms. Loubna Amhair, former Member of Parliament and Vice President for the Mena region at INLW.
