The first INLW Board Meeting since the Mexico GM with many new Board members took place in Barcelona from 8-11 April 2016.
On Friday the Barcelona Liberal women (Dones LiD) and INLW organized an event on “the Empowerment of Women for sustainable development, The new agenda of the United Nations” in the beautiful building Palau Macaya.
It was an inspiring evening with (fltr photo above) Leticia Gutierrez, Patricia Olamendi, Joaquima Alemany, Margaret de Vos van Steenwijk as speakers as well as a representative from Club XXI siècle in France.
Khadija el Morabit and Marianne Kallen and Lysbeth van Valkenburg were also present for the Meetings.
During Saturday the Board met in order to organize the respective duties of all its new members, to inform one another about events they attended during the past months and to the set up the forming of INLW Chapters in countries around the world.
Of course some sightseeing took place as well. A wonderful visit to the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and the Sagrada Familia under the perfect leadership of Past-President Joaquima Alemany. Secretary General Mireia Huerta took good care of us. Hopefully the Board will be able to see one another again in Marrakesh in November 2016 during the LI Executive Committee Meeting.
